MICAT 2022 is the mandatory computer based entrance test for admission to PGDM 2022-24 programs at MICA Ahmedabad. Apart from accepting CAT and XAT score, MICA conducts MICAT twice – MICAT-I was on December 4, 2021 and MICAT-II is on January 29, 2022 for selection of suitable students for PGDM-C and PGDM 2022-2024 programmes. MICA will consider better of the two MICAT 2022 Scores in final selection. Last date to apply for MICAT-II has closed on January 18, 2022.

Step by Step Guide to MICA Admissions through MICAT Exam 2022
After close of MICAT-I registration and application process, MICA admission is open through MICAT-II exam. The Step by Step MICAT exam process leading to MICA admission 2022 is as below

Step-1: Apply for MICAT-II to Improve the MICAT score: Last date January 18, 2022

• MICAT-II Application closed on Jan 18, 2022
• If the candidates had applied for MICAT-I, they needed to apply again
• MICAT is mandatory Entrance Test for MICA Admission 2022
• Common Application form for MICAT and MICA Admission

Step-2: Must have appeared either in CAT 2021 (Nov 28) or XAT (Jan 2, 2022)

• CAT 2021 was of 2 hours duration exam
• XAT 2022 was of 3 hours 10 minutes duration exam

Step-3: If Taken MICAT-I Exam on December 4, 2021, Could Apply Again

• All the candidates who had applied till Nov 22 for MICA admission 2022 had to appear in MICAT-I exam
• MICAT-I was conducted in 48 cities in India
• MICAT is computer based objective type test of 2 hours 15 minutes duration

Step-4: Take MICAT-II: Exam on January 29, 2022

Step-5: Check MICA Shortlisting based on CAT/XAT & MICAT. Likely Date: 3rd week Feb 2022

• Candidates will be shortlisted for final selection round in 3^rdweek of Feb 
• CAT/XAT cut off expected at 80 percentile
• Shortlist to have weightage of 50% to CAT/XAT score and 50% to MICAT score

Step-6: Attend Group Exercise & Personal Interview Round in 5 Cities. Likely Date: Early March 2022

• Short listed candidates will be called for GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai.

    MICA, Ahmedabad conducts its own admission test MICAT for the candidates who apply to MICA for admission to PGDM programme on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT scores. There are two MICAT 2022 exams and both are computer based tests. MICAT entrance exam is the MICA institute specific admission test for PGDM & PGDM-C programmes. MICAT exam 2022 is conducted by MICA. While MICAT-1 exam will be conducted on December 4, 2021, MICAT-II exam will be conducted on January 29, 2022.

Registration & Application process for MICAT 2022 exam date is open now. 6.1 MICAT Test Duration
Total duration of the examination is 2 hours and 15 minutes.

6.2 MICAT Sectional Composition
MICA admission test, MICAT 2022 is a multidimensional computer based examination, which will assess candidates in areas such as Divergent Thinking Abilities, Written Communication Abilities, General Awareness about contemporary social and business issues, including areas relevant to media, marketing, advertising & current affairs and Analytical & Verbal Abilities.

The Admission test also includes psychometric profiling to assess the candidate’s leadership potential. MICAT-I and MICAT-II consist of same test sections. Following three sections are there in MICAT exam

6.3 Section Wise Questions, Marking pattern, Important Instructions
The 3 broad sections effectively make the MICAT an exam with 6 sections as per following details:

6.3.1 Section A: Psychometric Test 

• Total Time allotted to this section is 30 minutes
• Around 150 questions are to be attempted in 30 minutes
• The questions are to be quickly answered
• No Negative Marking for the questions in this section
• There is no right or wrong answer for the questions in this section
• It is important to answer all questions in the Psychometric section
• Any un-attempted question will be allotted ZERO mark
• You Cannot go back to any other section or move ahead to any other section from Psychometric test until the end of 30 Minutes

6.3.2 Section B: Aptitude Test with 4 Sub sections on Verbal ability; Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation; General Awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking

• Total time allotted to this section is 1 hour and 20 minutes (80 Minutes)
• Each correct answer will be awarded +1 Mark
• All questions are of MCQ type
• Total number of Questions in this section are 100
• Maximum Marks for the section are 100
• Verbal Ability has 25 questions
• Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation has 25 questions
• General Awareness has 25 questions
• Divergent and Convergent Reasoning (Thinking) has 26 questions
• Questions in this section carry negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.
  Any un-attempted question will be allotted ZERO mark.
  You Can navigate across sub-sections – 1; 2; 3;4 in the Aptitude test during the allotted time of 1 hour and 20 minutes
• You cannot move to any other section like Psychometric Test or Descriptive Test from Aptitude Test till the allotted time of 1 hour 20 minutes is over for Aptitude section

6.3.3 Section C: Descriptive Test

• Total time allotted to attempt this section is 25 minutes
• You need to type the short answers to the questions in the given space on the screen
• All the questions are of descriptive type
• Total Questions are 4
• You need to type short answers in the given space

6.3.4 Type of question: Give 5 arguments in support of the Statement – Environment is more important than Development

• Write your views on the topic above
• You may be required to answer a bit longer answers of appx 100/200 words also
• Write a story based on pictures and images
• No negative marking is done for the questions in this section

7. MICAT 2022 Syllabus

MICA has introduced common application form to register and apply for MICAT exam and for MICA admission without any extra registration fee. Candidates should fill up the form to apply online. The registration and application form is different for New applicants and for already registered users. 10. MICAT 2022: Eligibility

• A Bachelor’s degree (10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.
• Candidates who demonstrate aptitude for expressing, assessing, and /or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results tend to stand a better chance of being shortlisted.
• Candidates will have to take at least one of the three exams – CAT 2021, XAT 2022 or GMAT to become eligible to appear in MICAT-I or MICAT-II

12. MICAT-I & MICAT-II Selection Process for MICA Admission 2022
    The admission process for PGDM-C and PGDM 2022-24 intake has following key points:

• The selection process will happen twice.
• Group Exercise & Personal Interview (GE-PI) through MICAT will be conducted at Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahmedabad
• Psychometric test is a qualifier. Those who qualify on the Psychometric, their CAT/XAT/GMAT relative performance will be considered (Subject to a minimum cut-off in CAT total percentile/XAT total percentile/GMAT score)
• Those who qualify based on the CAT/XAT cut-off or GMAT score shall be assessed for the following MICAT sections: Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General awareness (GA), and Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT).
• Those who qualify on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in Scaled Scores for each of these sections (namely: VA, QADI, GA and DCT) and CAT/XAT cut-off or GMAT score shall have their Descriptive Tests evaluated.
• Those who qualify on the basis as mentioned above and on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in Scaled Score in DT shall be considered for short listing for GE and PI.
• Shortlist will be prepared on the basis of MICAT-I and /or II or better of the two relative performances if a candidate has taken both MICAT-I and MICAT-II. (This will be prepared based on the Composite Score formula of 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT and 50% MICAT).
• Approximately 1/10th of the total number of candidates who appear in the two MICATs will be shortlisted for GE & PI based on the Total MICAT Scaled Score.
• Admission will be granted on the basis of merit and subsequently the consideration of the choice of the programme will be factored in.
• Once a candidate, as per the merit list, is offered admission from the programme of his/her first priority, then his/her name will be automatically be withdrawn from the list of the candidates in the programme of his second priority.  Read More

12.1 MICAT Weightage in Final Admission at MICA

• MICA accepts CAT/XAT/GMAT score for admission to its flagship PGDM program.
• Apart from appearing in CAT 2021, XAT 2022 or GMAT, the candidates applying for admission to PGDM-C programme at MICA will have to appear in either or the both MICAT 2022 exam namely MICAT-I or MICAT-II
